Joyce Peterson

Joyce Ann was born on January 20, 1940, in Madison, Minnesota the daughter of Melvin and Myrtle (Bothun) Lindblad. She attended country school through the 8th grade and graduated from Dawson High School in 1957. Joyce went onto nursing school at the Swedish Hospital in Minneapolis.
On September 5, 1959, Joyce was united in marriage to Wayne Peterson in Dawson, Minnesota. To this union three children were born: Darcy, Michael, and Craig. The Petersons raised their family in Brooklyn Center. After the kids were grown Joyce worked at Northridge Care Center and in 1998 retired to Lake Miltona.
Joyce was an avid walker. She loved to socialize with friends, family and neighbors. She loved to cook and take care of others especially her family. She and Wayne enjoyed trips to Florida, Duluth, and in later years wintering in Mesa, Arizona. Family, faith and friends were the center of her world.
Joyce died on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at her home from ALS disease. She is survived by her husband, Wayne; three children: Darcy (John) Erickson of St. Michael, Michael & Patti of Albertville, Craig of Brooklyn Park,; six grandchildren: Nicole Johnston, Kali Lindenfelser, Cory Erickson, Mitchell Peterson, Morgan Peterson, Kylie Peterson; two great grandchildren: Maren Lindenfelser, Kayleigh Johnston; brothers: Donald (Pat) Lindblad, David (Marie) Lindblad; sister, Doris (Val) Storlien.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Carol; daughter-in-law, Barb.
Memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 16, 2015, 11:00 a.m. (10 a.m. visitation prior) at Living Word Lutheran Church in Alexandria. Private burial will be held at a later date at Lord of Life Memorial Peace Garden in Maple Grove. Memorials to Knute-Nelson Hospice or Living Word Lutheran Church Building fund.
