June Dodds was born June 21, 1957 in New Rockford, ND, the daughter of David and Goldie (Landon) Dodds. She graduated from New Rockford High School in 1975, and attended Lake Region Community College, where she earned her degree in nursing in 1978.
On November 17, 1978, June married John Koch in New Rockford, ND. To this union two children were born, John David and Jessica. June started her nursing career working at New Rockford City Hospital. The family then spent two short years in Lisbon, ND before finally moving to Alexandria, MN. June spent twenty seven years in Alexandria where she finished her career in nursing at Douglas County Hospital.
In her free time June enjoyed her flower gardens, canning salsa, the beach, camping, country music festivals and shopping. She loved spending time with her kids and grandkids. June also enjoyed traveling to see family in her hometown; she was always planning the next trip. On quiet evenings, June could be found watching the latest Hallmark special with the love of her life, John.
On Saturday, December 26, 2015, at the age of fifty eight, June died and went to heaven, while at her home surrounded by family. She is preceded in death by her parents, David and Goldie Dodds; stepmother, Gertrude Dodds; sister, Darlene Lewis and brother, Lyle Dodds; and her husband John’s parents, John and Lorraine Koch. She is survived by her husband of thirty-seven years, John Koch; son, John David Koch and wife, Erica, of Arden Hills, daughter, Jessica Kriel and husband, Nolan, of Alexandria; grandchildren, Bentley and Korbin Kriel; Sisters, Gayle Dodds and significant other, Scott Reis, of New Rockford, ND, Ronda Hoffarth and husband, Donald, of Langdon, ND; brothers, Stanley Dodds of Bismark, ND, Everett Dodds of Langdon, ND, Jerry Dodds of Fargo, ND; many nieces and nephews.
