June Lorraine Meier was born on June 12, 1930 in Duluth, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Sigrid (Nelson) Meier. She graduated from Hermantown High School. June continued her education and graduated from Hamline University with a degree in Medical Technology. June was united in marriage to Dr. Robert W. Page on June 23, 1951 in Duluth, MN. The couple made their home in Alexandria, MN. June began working at the Douglas County Hospital where she established the lab at the hospital in 1955. Later June began teaching at the Alexandria Technical College where she established the Medical Technician program. She continued to teach at the college until her retirement. June was a volunteer. She served on the Douglas County Welfare Board and was very active in the League of Women Voters. June was also instrumental in the establishment of Friends of the Library and was a member of Belles Lettres. On Friday, July 13, 2012 June died at the age of eighty-two years. She was preceded in death by her parents and by daughter, Susan Page. June is survived by her husband, Dr. Robert Page of Alexandria; son, William Page of Eden Prairie; and sister, Patricia Wilson, of Rydal, GA. A visitation will be held from 5 to 7 PM, Thursday, July 19, 2012 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Interment at a later date will be private. Arrangements are with Anderson Funeral Home.
