June Delores was born on December 3, 1930 in Decorah, IA, the daughter of Earl and Margaret (Hauge) Richard. She moved with her family to Fergus Falls and she attended high school in Fergus Falls, MN. She got to know Arthur Svare by writing him letters while he was stationed in the Philippines. Upon his return from the service June and Art fell in love and were married on November 16, 1947 in Fergus Falls, MN at the Zion Lutheran Church. Together they made Fergus Falls their home and had two daughters Sue and Kim. June was a homemaker and lovingly cared for her children and husband. June also was a salesclerk for a variety of different retail stores in Fergus Falls and Alexandria selling clothes and shoes. June was an avid reader and enjoyed watching TV. She also enjoyed taking an occasional trip to the casino. In her earlier years she loved to go camping and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, caring mother, and proud grandmother and great grandmother. She will be missed by those who loved and knew her. June D. Svare died on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria. She his survived by her loving husband of 61 years Arthur Svare of Alexandria; daughters Sue and Kurt Kester of Luverne, MN; Kim and Gene Berglund of Alexandria; grandchildren Casey and Paula Kester of Truman, MN; Chris and Kara Scherbring of Sioux Falls, SD; Sarah and Matt Evenson of Alexandria; Kirsten Berglund of Alexandria; great grandchildren Ian Scherbring of Sioux Falls, SD; Isaac Scherbring of Sioux Falls, SD; Luke Kester of Truman, MN; Gavin Kester of Truman, Moriah Evenson of Alexandria; sister-in-law Beverly Richards of Fargo, ND; three nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one sister. A funeral service was held on Monday, January 19, 2009 at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Reverend Arthur Montgomery officiating. Mark Graf played the organ and Karen Hanson was the soloist. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery. Casket Bearers were Casey Kester, Chris Scherbring, Matt Evenson, Chuck Taylor, Chris Hanson, and Doug Richard. Honorary Casket Bearers were Kara Scherbring, Sarah Evenson, Kirsten Berglund, Paula Kester, Ian Scherbring, Isaac Scherbring, Luke Kester, Gavin Kester, and Moriah Evenson.
