Karen Ruth Noetzelman, of Miltona, MN, passed away on October 28, 2023, at the age of 78. She was born on August 9, 1945, in Alexandria, MN, to parents Loren and Ruth (Wussow) Hass.
Growing up in the Garfield area, Karen had a joyful childhood. She was baptized on September 2, 1945, and later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Garfield on June 28, 1959. Karen attended Jefferson High School, graduating with the Class of 1963. After high school, she found employment at Silver Star Chinchilla. Karen then worked as an office manager for ShoreMaster in Carlos and later at Ron's Warehouse in Alexandria, always enjoying the customers and finding some great deals every once in a while.
On February 18, 1967, Karen exchanged vows with the love of her life, Larry Noetzelman, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Garfield. Their union was blessed with three children: Brian, Michelle, and Brad.
A lover of lakeside living, Karen embraced over 50 years of cherished memories on lakes such as Miltona, Ida, and Irene. Memories of pontoon rides, swimming, family gatherings at Christmas and 4th of July, and bon fires will be never forgotten by her family. She had a remarkable green thumb and took great pride in tending to her beautiful gardens, particularly her beloved hostas and vibrant flowers.
Karen's passion extended to the kitchen, where she delighted in cooking and baking for her loved ones. Her home was always filled with warmth and delicious aromas, and no visitor ever left hungry. Gathering with her siblings and grandchildren, Karen treasured card game nights and joyful family moments. Her famous caramel rolls and mouthwatering BBQ chicken will forever be etched in the memories of those fortunate enough to indulge.
Karen is survived by her devoted husband of 56 years, Larry Noetzelman, and her children, Brian (Mary Byrne) Noetzelman, Michelle (Paul) Chermak, and Brad (Karla) Noetzelman. She will also be lovingly remembered by her cherished grandchildren: Trent Noetzelman, Taylor Noetzelman, Krystal (Grant) Lubenow, Sierra Chermak, Harley Chermak, Zaven Noetzelman, and Zella Noetzelman. Her great-grandson, Kroy Slavik, brought endless joy to her heart. Karen's memory lives on through her beloved sister, Pat (Roger) Dittberner, brother-in-law, Lynn (Sheila) Schulz, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
