Kathleen Louise Livermore was born July 7, 1939 to Charles and Grace (Winrow) Livermore in Canby, Minnesota. Kathleen married Sam Brusven of rural Cottonwood, Minnesota on June 8, 1958. For the next 23 years they worked together on the family farm and raised five children. In 1982 they moved to north of Clarissa, Minnesota and farmed there for the next seven years. They then moved to north of Browerville, Minnesota and spent their last 27 years there together.
Kathleen loved her flowers. She worked at Lake Geneva Bible Camp for ten years and was well-known as the “Flower Lady”. People would come back every year to see what kind of flowers the “Flower Lady” would plant. She also enjoyed crocheting, sewing, her vegetable garden, playing cards and putting puzzles together, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Kathleen Brusven died at Galeon Community Memorial Nursing Home in Osakis, Minnesota on October 9, 2014 at the age of 76. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Sam of over 55 years. She is survived by her children, Karen (Al) Brusven of Parkers Prairie, MN, Nancy Pehrson of Sioux Falls, SD, Diane (Greg) Brusven of Osakis, MN Carol (Craig) Dierkes of Clear Lake, MN, Karl (Jen) Brusven of Alexandria, MN and Joseph (Stephanie) Brusven of Eagle Bend, MN; Siblings, Rex (Jerry) Livermore of Sioux Falls, Paulette (Paul) Johnson of Lake Carlos, MN and Allen (Karin) Livermore of Canby, MN; Grandchildren, Charles Mobley, Jaymie (Chris) Christianson, Cody Pehrson, Logan Dierkes, Hannah Dierkes and Jayden Brusven; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Spencer; as well as many nieces and nephews.
