Kathleen Kaar

Kathleen Kaar age 74 of Brandon passed away peacefully on Friday, May 26, 2017 at her home. A memorial service will take place on Friday, June2, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria at 11:00 AM, with a visitation taking place one hour prior.

Kathleen Rose (Docherty) Kaar was born on January 14, 1943 in St. Paul, Minnesota the daughter of John and Dorothy Docherty. She graduated from Ramsey High School and then started waitressing at a local restaurant. Kathleen married Donald Kaar on June 12, 1965. This union was blessed with two children, Karen and Daniel.

When Kathleen was not busy raising her family she enjoyed cooking, playing board games or watching football and wrestling. She liked adventure. In her younger days, she could be found riding her own motorcycle around town. She was always willing to go for a road trip with her son to another state or casino. Kathleen was an animal lover, always having pets both in the house and wild animals out in the yard. Her favorite holidays were the fourth of July and Christmas, it was always fun to celebrate surprises. She was a bundle of joy to be with and care for, and will be deeply missed by her family.

Kathleen passed away on Friday, May 26, 2017 at her home with Dan at one bedside and Cheri on the other. She is preceded in death by her husband, Donald; daughter, Karen Olivarez; and her parents. She is survived by her son, Dan (Cheri Peterson-friend) Kaar; grandchildren, Dusty Kaar and Kyle Olivarez; great-grandson, Vincent Bradley; sisters, Jan (Dick) Maser, Marge (Bill) Boyd, Mary (Tony) Conroy; brother-in-law, Dewey (Kathy) Kaar.
