Kathleen Reis

Kathleen Ann was born on December 11, 1934, in Brainerd, Minnesota the daughter of George and Gladys (Kimball) Thesing Jr. As a young girl the family moved to the Little Falls area where they farmed near Camp Ripley. She attended country grade school and graduated from Pillager High School.
After graduation Kathleen moved to the Twin Cities area where she worked for Sears. On May 21, 1955 Kathleen was united in marriage to Daniel Reis at St. Mathias Catholic Church. After their marriage the couple continued to live in the Twin Cities and six months later bought a gas station and bar in Hanley Falls. In 1957, they purchased a garage/gas station in Carlos, Minnesota where they raised their family.
She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, playing the Kindle, ice fishing, puzzles, going up North to Pine River where they had some property and could enjoy the outdoors. She also loved to travel whether it was in their motorhome, trips they won to Spain and the Bahamas or trips to Canada to Moose hunt. Kathleen will be remembered as a wonderful mother and mother-in-law who cherished her family.
Mrs. Reis died on Wednesday, October 29, 2014. She is survived by her husband, Daniel; Sons: Gary (JoAnne), Greg (Rosie), Doug & (DeLene), Jeffry (Laurie); grandchildren: Nolan Reis, Emily Beery, Lance Reis, Nicholas & Brenda Reis, David Reis, Danielle Reis, Dana Reis & fiance’, Dalton Frovarp; great grandchild, Kaika Reis; brothers: George (Gert) Thesing Jr, Roy (Connie) Thesing; sisters: Marie Altrichter, Elizabeth (Clarence) Koering.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 am St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River. Burial was at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
