Kathleen (Kathy) Louise Trenne, age 81, died Tuesday, May31, 2022 at Alexandria, MN. The daughter of Raymond and Mary (Maloney) Quast, she was born March 23, 1941 in Alexandria, MN. On March 22, 1957, Kathy was united in marriage to Arlyn Trenne. They made their home in Alexandria and were blessed with four children.

Kathy held many positions over the years. She is most remembered for her 28 years of service at Jefferson Senior High School. She touched many lives in her roles as classroom paraprofessional, administrative assistant, and cafeteria ticket collector. In 1984, Arlyn and Kathy purchased A & E Plumbing, Heating and Sheetmetal making her one of a few women business owners at the time. She continued to have a vital role in daily operations until the very end.

Kathy had many passions. Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling, all around the United States and Canada. The family loved camping during their travels. The most memorable trip occurred in 1974 when the family traveled the Alaska highway. She was an excellent card player, enjoying trips to many different casinos over the years, as well as playing games with family and friends. Kathy loved fishing with Arlyn and they went on many fishing outings both locally and in Canada. The two spent many hours at auction sales looking for antiques and searching stores in the pursuit of Beanie Babies. She was an avid baker and canner. She is renowned for canning pickles and tomato soup from homegrown produce. Her coffee pot was always on and a fresh pan of bars was ready for anybody to drop in for a visit at her home. Kathy and Arlyn owned a hobby farm in Moe Township where she truly loved hosting family and friends for numerous occasions. She was a dedicated Twins fan and never missed watching a game on TV.  She was a caregiver to many throughout her life and always put others first.

Kathy  was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Arlyn Trenne; infant son, Scott Trenne; son-in-law, Mark Stiver; her parents; two brothers, Norm and Dave Quast; half sister Jeannie Garner; and brother-in-law Jerry Engelbrecht. Kathy is survived by her daughter, Jody Stiver of Sugar Land, TX; sons, James Trenne and wife, Joanne, of Alexandria and Tim Trenne and wife, Mary, of Chaska; grandchildren, Stacie Stiver, Rebekah Cantrell, Brian Trenne, Nicholas Trenne, Megan Trenne, Michael Trenne, Briant Weber, Phillip Trenne, Andrew Trenne, Matthew Trenne and Molly Helm; great grandchildren, Savannah, Tessa, Braydyn, Lola, Reid, Eva, Skyler, Callie, Ireland, Merida, Lennox, Sylas, Samuel, Elora, Caleb and Mya; one brother, Jerry ( Barb) Quast of Silver Lake; Brothers-in-law Jon (Barb) of Carlos and Paul (Karen) Trenne of Grand Forks, ND; Sister-in-law Verla Engelbrecht of Alexandria. She will also be missed by many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022, from 3:00 – 5:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home.  Visitation will continue on Monday, June 6, 2022, from 10:00 – 11:00 AM with a Memorial service at 11:00 a.m. at Bethesda Lutheran Church in Alexandria.  Service will be live streamed for those unable to attend.
