Keith McCoy

Keith Dale McCoy was born October 14, 1938 in Crosby, MN, the son of Wesley (Dale) and Irene (Keeler) McCoy. Keith graduated from Crosby High School in 1956 and then enlisted in the United States Navy working as an aviation electrician on the USS Midway. Keith returned to Minnesota and worked building power lines throughout Nevada and Colorado. He married Sherri Jenkins in 1961, and three children were born to this union, Kim, Wade, and Trace. Keith continued his education for telephone communications in Oakland, CA and then moved back to Minnesota in 1965. He worked in the telephone industry until 1980 when he began Central Minnesota Telephone Co. After 10 years he retired.

Keith met Susan Foslien and they were united in marriage on July 6, 2001 in San Francisco, CA. The loving couple traveled around the USA and Europe. They built their dream home on Lobster Lake near Alexandria, MN, cherishing every moment they spent together, especially on the pontoon, and with Keith's children and grandchildren. Keith loved the earth, farming, and gardening, claiming the title – 'Tomato King.' Annual sledding competitions with the grandchildren, hunting in the north woods with his sons and grandsons, and target shooting were a few of his hobbies. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

Keith D. McCoy died on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at the Douglas County Hospital with his loving wife and children by his side. He is survived by his wife Susan Foslien of Garfield, daughter Kim Tennison of Glendale, AZ, sons Wade (Kari) McCoy of Alexandria and Trace (Lisa) McCoy of Clearwater, six grandchildren; Shane Tennison, Marie Tennison, Austin McCoy, Kaci McCoy, Kyler McCoy, Jack McCoy, great grandchildren, sisters Coleen (Rod) Raymond of Deerwood and Wendy Flannigan of Crosby, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Wesley (Dale) and Irene McCoy.

A Celebration of Keith's life will take place at the Anderson Funeral Home from 5-7PM on Thursday, July 7, 2016. A Graveside service will be held at Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby, MN on Friday, July 8, 2016 at 11AM.
