Kelsey Piche

Kelsey was born on August 13, 1984, the daughter of Russell and Sheila (Erickson) Holtan in Thief River Falls, MN. She was baptized & confirmed at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Kelsey attended school in Thief River Falls. In grade school, she was a girl scout and participated in the Thief River Falls ice shows. She graduated in 2003 from Lincoln High School. While in high school, she worked at Hugo's grocery store as a cashier. There she met her "Danny" as he worked in the produce department. They were high school sweethearts. She furthered her education at Alexandria Technical College. During this time she worked at Mills Fleet Farm. She graduated from Alexandria Technical College in 2005 from the Administrative Assistant Program. Shortly before graduation, she started work at TWF Industries in Alexandria as an Administrative Assistant, where she had been employed for the past 4 years. Kelsey and Danny were married on February 1, 2005 in Cancun, Mexico. During Kelsey's short time with Danny, they had 3 children: Brock 3 1/2, Lexi 2, Bryce 2 months. Kelsey loved first her "Danny" and their children. Kelsey loved to giggle and had a special bond with her sisters, mom and dad. She loved scrapbooking, country music, all watersports, suntanning, downhill skiing, and planning motorcycle trips. Kelsey always came with her camera in hand. She loved to bake, especially anything with chocolate. She was great to remember special occasions with a card. Little Bryce was born July 19, 2009 and 2 days later Kelsey was transferred to the ICU in Alexandria diagnosed with ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). On July 26, 2009 Kelsey was transferred to the critical care ICU at St. Cloud Hospital were she remained until Sept. 27, 2009 where she passed away with her family by her side. Kelsey is survived by her husband, Danny; her three children: Brock 3 �, Lexi 2, Bryce 2 months; parents: Russ & Sheila Holtan of Thief River Falls, MN, Katrina Holtan & fianc� Larry Tollefson of Fargo; Kassi (Jeremy) Srnsky of Thief River Falls, MN; Grandpa & Grandma: Virgil & Cathy (Grandma Polka) Erickson of Middle River, MN; Nieces & Nephews: Brooke & Brody Tollefson, Maysie & Keenan Srnsky; several aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends: Katie Walseth & Samatha Alby. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents: Joe & Mabel Holtan. Parish Prayer service was held on Thursday, October 1, 2009, 7:00 p.m. at St. Bernard?s Catholic Church in Thief River Falls. Mass of Christian Burial was held on Friday, October 2, 2009, 1:00 p.m. at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with Father Steve Binsfeld officiating. Pallbearers were Paul Piche, Andy Erickson, Patrick Erickson, Paul Erickson, Tim Erickson, Larry Tollefson, Katie Walseth, Samatha Alby. Burial was at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Alexandria. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
