Kenneth Chermak

Kenneth John Chermak was born on May 17, 1935, in Lake Reno Township the son of John & Mayme (Zavadil) Chermak. He was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic Faith at St. John?s Nepomuk in Lake Reno. He graduated from Alexandria High School in 1954. During his lifetime Kenny had several different jobs which included working at Bellanca Aircraft for five years, helping his parents operate the Holiday Haven Resort on Lake Mary for fifteen years and assisting his dad, John with his carpentry. Kenny enjoyed playing cards some of his favorite games were whist and 500. He also liked shooting pool, playing BINGO, watching the Wheel of Fortune. Kenneth died on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Clearwater Suites. He is survived by aunts: Lillian Johnson of Wadena, MN, Florence & Delmer Pomeranz of Urbank, MN, Lillian Olson of Alexandria; Uncle: Adolph & Erma Chermak of St. Cloud, MN; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents: John & Mayme; Aunts: Frances Slaby, Agnes Bitzan, Christine Barta; Uncles: John Zavadil, Wencil Zavadil, Henry Chermak. Parish Prayer Service was held on Friday, March 28, 2008, 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial was on Saturday, March 29, 2008, 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary?s Catholic Church with Father Steve Binsfeld officiating. Honorary Pallbearers were Raymond Barta, Paul Suchy, John Thoennes. Pallbearers were Arnie Zavadil, Dave Schmidt, David Funk, Joe Morrison, Allen Koep, Michael Peck. Burial was at St. Mary?s Cemetery in Alexandria. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home.
