Kenneth Hodek

Kenneth (?Ken?) Charles Hodek was born January 26, 1921 to Joseph and Marie Hodek. Following graduation from Hopkins, MN High School, Ken served with the U.S. Navy as a gunner?s mate. Ken received 4 battle stars for service in the Solomon Islands in 1943. Ken married N. Patricia Malone in Minneapolis, MN in 1951. The happy couple lived in Alexandria, MN. Here, Ken worked for the MN Department of Economic Security for over 30 years. He was a proud life member of the Alexandria VFW Club and he served as Quartermaster for many years. Ken died on June 28, 2012 at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glenn; sister, Myrtle; wife, Patricia; and son, Kenneth Charles, Jr. He is survived by Kenneth Charles, Jr.?s wife, Deanna, St. Cloud, MN; son, Bruce and his wife, Jan, and three granddaughters, Jessica, Nicole, and Alexandra, St. Paul, MN; and son, Nicholas and wife, Jodi, two granddaughters, Hayley and Jayde, and two great grandchildren, Scout and Holden, Alexandria, MN. Ken was a beloved Dad, Grandpa, and Great-Grandpa. Ken will always be remembered for his keen sense of humor, his playful teasing manner, and his intense love for the outdoors. Ken?s retirement was spent fishing and hunting with his three sons in the local area. Funeral services were held on June 30, 2012 with Wayne Erickson officiating. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Alexandria. Casket bearers included all of Ken?s grandchildren. Delroy Johnson was an honorary casket bearer. Military honors were provided by the local VFW Post 936, American Legion Post 87 and the Minnesota National Guard. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
