Kenneth Wayne Klug was born in Alexandria, Minnesota on March 11, 1945 in Alexandria the son of Reinhold and Mabel (Nack) Klug. Ken was baptized and confirmed at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield, Minnesota where he was involved as head usher in the church and also served on the Church Cemetery Board for many years. He attended school in Garfield and then attended and graduated from Jefferson Senior High School in 1963. Ken was united in marriage to Kathy Bagstad in 1984. The couple enjoyed square dancing, enjoyed his toy tractor collection, member of Rose City Thrashing Committee, and he also was a member of the Garfield Fire Department for 20 years. Ken served his country in the U.S. Air Force, then farmed and was employed by Douglas Machine until his death on April 25, 2008 as a result of an automobile accident. Ken is survived by his wife Kathy, two sons Gregg Tryggeseth of Garfield, Rob (Kim) Tryggeseth of Alexandria, and daughter Pam (Clark) Johnson of Elk River, grandson Seth Strandlund of Elk River, mother Mabel Klug of Alexandria, brothers Roger (Luann) Klug of Garfield, Kevin (Connie) Klug of Chicago, and sister Marlys (Howard) Gease of Miltona. A funeral service was held at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield on Wednesday, April 30, 2008 with Rev. Shawn Ethridge, officiating. Music will be provided by Everald Timm, soloist, and Irma Brockberg, organist. Pallbearers will be Troy Wolberson, Dick Miller, Roger Rehborg, Craig Klug, Keith Nack and Mitchell Diedrich. Interment will be in the St. John?s Lutheran Cemetery, Garfield, MN with Military Honors being performed by the Alexandria American Legion Post #87. Arrangements with the Anderson Funeral Home of Alexandria, MN.
