Kenneth Wussow

May 24, 1930 — October 10, 2017

Kenneth Matthew Wussow was born on May 24, 1930, the son of Henry and Sophia (Woessner) Wussow.  He was baptized on June 8, 1930 at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.  Kenny attended Leaf Valley Country School and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1948.

After graduation he worked on the family farm and in 1952 was drafted and served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army.  After being honorably discharged Kenny returned home to the farm.

On July 2, 1960, Kenneth was united in marriage to LaVerne Bettermann at St. John’s Church in Garfield.  The couple made their home in Leaf Valley where they raised their five children.  Ken and LaVerne enjoyed going dancing on Friday nights at the VFW Hall – his favorite dance was the waltz.  He loved to farm and drive his John Deere tractors.  Kenny will be remembered as a hard worker with a great sense of humor and a man whose faith and family always came first.

Kenny died on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.  He is survived by his wife of 57 years: LaVerne; children: Bruce (Shannon), Keith (Sandy), Rodney, Carol (Tom) Myhre, Steve (Jessica); grandchildren: Colleen (Brent) Fox, Jessica Montgomery (friend, Shane), Christopher (Ashley) Montgomery, Jessie (Aaron) Kuseske, Adam Wussow, Paige Wussow, Lucas Myhre, Jackson Myhre, Alec Myhre, McKenna Wussow, Brody Wussow; great grandchildren: Aleeza, Dominic, Avery; brother: Norman Wussow; sister, Naomi Gargaro; sister-in-law, Donna Wussow.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry, and mother, Sophia; sister, Ruth (Loren) Hass, Delores (Alfred) Kloehn; brother, Raymond; and in-laws: Eilene Wussow, Sam Gargaro.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017, 2:00 PM at Ebenezer Lutheran Church.  Burial will be at the church cemetery.  Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home. www.andersonfuneral.net
