Kermit Anderson

May 28, 1950 — October 3, 2014

Kermit Gilman Anderson was born on May 28, 1950 in Glenwood, MN, the son of Gilman and Gladys M. (Aslagson) Anderson. He attended grade school in Lowry and graduated from Glenwood High School. Kermit’s life work was masonry and farming with his brother Carroll on the family farm north of Lowry.

Kermit was married to Gwen Parker, they had two children Jennifer and Jeffrey. He later was married to Sue Hjelm and they also had two children Tim and Tara. Kermit met Sharon Elsner in 1998, his very best friend and loving companion for the past 16 years.

Kermit enjoyed life and seldom complained about anything. He liked to work and keep active but he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He was equally loving to Sharon’s grandchildren having 13 grandchildren between them.

Kermit enjoyed Saturday night races with his daughter Tara and his granddaughter Marissa. He also enjoyed ice-fishing with Tara when she was a child and also with his grandfather Len and his dad when he was young. Kermit proudly attended and watched Tim’s wrestling matches when he was in high school. In 1997 Kermit longed to reunite with his children from his first marriage. He was pleased to know his two daughters Tara and Jennifer are now best of friends.

Kermit and Sharon purchased a home near Wickenburg, AZ in 2009. He would tell everyone how much he enjoyed being there with their friends. He and Sharon were planning to leave soon to spend the winter at their home in AZ.

We can only trust that God has a more glorious plan for him. May God Bless the memory of Kermit. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Kermit is survived by his best friend Sharon Elsner; his children Jen (Steve) Perillo, Jeff Garvey, Tim Anderson and Tara (Steve) Linow; grandchildren Jared and Brenden Perillo, Marissa and Brooke Linow, Maci Anderson, and Meredith Garvey; brothers Carroll of Lowry, Marvin (Sandi) of Kensal, ND, and Les of Hoffman; sister Angie (Robert) Ort of Inez TX; Sharon’s children Kelly Elsner and Valerie (Kevin) Vonderharr; Sharon’s Grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother Duane.

Interment was in Trysil-Bethesda Lutheran Cemetery near Holmes City, MN. Casket bearers were Brian Hjelm, Jim Hjelm, Bruce Trousil, Dan Anderson, Frank Trousil and Jerome Anderson. Honorary Casket Bearers were all of the grandchildren.
