Kevin Jung

Kevin Adam Jung was born May 19, 1928 to Adam ?Ed? Jung and Katherine (Kasemaker) Jung in Osakis, MN. He grew up and helped his parent?s farm and attended country school in rural Osakis until the eighth grade. Kevin went to work for Burlington Northern Railroad at the age of 16. On September 4, 1954 Kevin was united in marriage to Marcella Fearing in Alexandria. The couple made their home in Alexandria and where blessed with three children, Perry, Terry and Susan. Kevin retired from the railroad at the age of 62. He spent his time tinkering and helping Marcella at her store; Jung?s Second Hand Shop in Osakis. Kevin enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, garage sales, auctions, gardening, and drinking beer. He also enjoyed Sunday drives in the country, around Lake Union and Lake Mary. Most of all he loved spending time with his grandchildren, helping them fish. Kevin died on Friday, February 5, 2010, at Knute Nelson at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 56 years Marcella; sons, Perry (Sue) Jung of Ramsey and Terry Jung of Alexandria; daughter, Susan (Bennie) Hedstrom of Alexandria; grandchildren, Krisha, Chad, Amy, Nicole, Derrick, Heather, Rebecca, Holly and Brittnee; 12 great-grandchildren; brothers, Edward Jung of Conrad, MT, Donald Jung of Great Falls, MT, Paul (Sally) Jung of Port Angeles, WA, and Gary Jung of Port Angeles, WA; sisters, Elaine Tweet of Great Falls, MT, Audrey Compacker of Power, MT, Mary (George) Butterfield of Seattle, WA and many nieces and nephews. Kevin is preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Katherine; brothers, Dicky and an infant brother. A funeral service was held on Monday, February 8, 2010 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with Reverend Mark Astrup officiating. Music was provided by Kim Byrne. Interment was in the Hudson Cemetery in Hudson Township. Casket bearers were Jason Feeken, Lance Feeken, Derrick Jung, Chad Jung, Markus Kanning, and Matt Friede. Honorary casket bearers were Darrell Bodeker, Marty Jenkins, Rick Simonson, Alan Jenkins, Gilman Nord, Bill Wadd, Lyle Kiecker and Eric Jung. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
