Laura Leigh (Ostlund) Peterson was born on July 27, 1954 in Minneapolis, MN to Neil and Mary (McDonough) Ostlund. She graduated from Owatonna High School in 1972. Laura attended college at St. Thomas and St. Catherine?s until she moved out to Park City, UT and Huntington Beach, CA. She moved back to Alexandria in 1987 and bought Schjeis Grocery and renamed it ?Three Havens Market? in 1988. Laura was united in marriage to Brian Peterson on September 16, 1989 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Alexandria. The couple resided in Alexandria where Laura continued to run her store. After selling the store Laura then worked alongside Brian with his business that they owned for twenty years. For the past year Laura has worked with the Randy Fisher Real Estate Team. Laura enjoyed spring and planting her flowers, shopping, fishing off the dock and spending time with family and friends. She loved living in their beautiful home on Lake Brophy, sunset pontoon rides were a must. Laura had a special place in her heart for animals, especially Golden Retrievers. She loved her two retrievers, Dayzie and Coalbe. Laura died on Thursday, April 4, 2013 at the University of Minnesota Fairview Hospital in Minneapolis at the age of 58. She is survived by her loving husband, Brian of Alexandria; father, Neil (Betty) Ostlund of Alexandria; sister, Julie Rambow of Garfield; nephew, Adam (Ashley) Rambow and their children, Ava and Arlo of Champlin. Laura is preceded in death by her mother, Mary; and brother, David. Memorials are preferred to Retrieve A Golden Of Minnesota (RAGOM) in honor of her love of Golden Retrievers. www.ragom.org A Memorial Mass was held on Monday, April 8, 2013 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Alexandria with Reverend Father Steve Binsfeld officiating. Inurnment was in Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Honorary urn bearers were, Adam Rambow, Ashley Rambow, Ava Rambow, Arlo Rambow, John, Katie Kovar and Ellie Kovar, Margaret and Jerry Hebert, Theresa and Jerry Terfehr, Nancy and Vernon Hollar, Willy Stroh, Patrick and Michelle Stroh, and Julie and DJ Lundrigan.
