Laura Rodel

Laura Lee Rodel, age 63, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family after a long
battle with cancer on July 17th, 2017. Laura was born February 4th, 1954 in Rapid City, SD to Lawrence
and Hilah Hanson. She was the youngest of 6 girls.

Although she always had a great love for Rapid City and the Black Hills, she moved to Alexandria, MN and was later married to Tom Rodel on August 19th, 1991. Always hard working, she recently retired after 31 years with 3M to enjoy long summer days on the lake with her family. A beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Laura lived life to the fullest through the simple pleasures; gardening, chatting with friends and family, and enjoying as much time as possible with her many grandchildren.

She is survived by Tom, her husband of 26 years, their four children; Amy, Jacob, Ryan, Gretchen, along with their spouses; four sisters; Shirley, Marie, Judy, and Patricia, her nine grandchildren; Phynix, Mackenzie, Mackenzie, Brayden, Elijah, Landyn, Madison, Macy, and Liam.

She was preceded in death by her parents Hilah and Lawrence Hanson, and Sister, Josephine Kaul.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 20, 2017, 4:00 - 8:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Burial will be at Kinkead Cemetery.
