Lee Jon Radil was born in Alexandria, Minnesota on November 20th 1958, the son of Leslie and Ramona (Zimmel) Radil. He attended country school #456 through the sixth grade, then continued his education graduating from Jefferson Senior High School. After high school Lee attended Ridgewater College in Willmar MN completing a degree in electronics. It was while at a dance at the ZCBJ Lodge that he met Beth Nemmers. The two started dating and were united in marriage at the Holy Rosary Parish in LaMotte, Iowa on November 17, 1984. This union was blessed with three sons, Josh, Andy and Robby. Later in life their sons would marry. Lee and Beth welcomed with open arms three daughters-in-law, Elizabeth, Alison and Haley.
In 1979 Lee started farming full time with his father and brothers. Farming would be a lifetime of memories and stories. He didn’t consider farming work, it was something that he loved to do. When he wasn’t busy milking cows or working the land, Lee could be found building beautiful furniture with his hands. He used some of the furniture that he made to display his extensive collection of toy tractors. If you looked at his collection you would see that he was a red tractor enthusiast!! He enjoyed hunting, especially the trips with family and friends to the Miller Creek Camp near Baudette, MN. On Sundays, he could be found cheering on the Minnesota Vikings. He was an active Cenex board member for about twenty years and a lifelong member of the ZCBJ lodge.
Lee could not go anywhere without running into someone he knew. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. He loved his girls, Elizabeth, Alison and Haley; and his grandkids warmed his heart and put a smile on his face. Lee had a gentle soul and was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, nephew and uncle that will be dearly missed.
Lee’s life came to an end unexpectedly on Thursday, November 9, 2017 at the age of fifty-eight. He is survived by his wife, Beth; sons, Josh (Elizabeth), Andy (Alison), and Robby (Haley); grandchildren, Austin Weber, Adrien, Autumn and Harper Radil; brothers, Max (Lyla) Radil, Mark (Marilyn) Radil, Dean (Judy) Radil; and a sister, Connie (Kevin) Klimek; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents Leslie and Ramona; father in law and mother in law, Eldon and Jeanette Nemmers; brother in law, Bruce Nemmers; and sister in law, Nancy Nemmers. Also preceding him in death are his paternal and maternal grandparents.
