Lenora was united in marriage to Florian Roers on October 16, 1941, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Urbank. The couple had a dairy farm where they raised their seven children. After thirty five years of farming they moved to a hobby farm where they lived until moving to Evansville just prior to Florian passing away. Lenora enjoyed farming, fishing and then smoking the fish, working in the vegetable garden, dancing a good polka or waltz, and playing cards. She also enjoyed canning, cooking and baking and was known as the “best apple pie maker in Douglas County.”
What she cherished most was time with her family – whether it was a birthday party, or camping trip it was just wonderful to be together! Her family also knew that if you stopped by there was no way of leaving without having coffee or a meal. Her family and friends will not forget her good sense of humor and her ability to come up with good one - liners. Lenora had a strong faith and was very devoted to saying the rosary daily.
