Leonard Jay Roemmich was born July 4th, 1964 in Bismarck, ND to Leonard & Leona (Fried) Roemmich. He grew up on the family farm northeast of Driscoll. He attended Sunday school and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Grace Lutheran Church. Driscoll. He attended Steele High School and went on to graduate from Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Phoenix, AZ in 1990. He was a carpenter for many years and proud to be a member as well as an organizer for the Local Carpenters Union 1091. In recent years, he worked on repairing and building bridges in North Dakota and Minnesota, most recently on the Liberty Memorial Bridge in Bismarck. On April 27, 1985 he was united in marriage to Rachele Linssen, from this union three sons were born: Sampson Edward, Benjamin Jay, & Daniel Brice. Leonard has one grandson, Jackson Edward On July 4th, 2009, Leonard was married to Donna Bromley at Alexandria, MN, where he presently resided. He enjoyed working on motorcycles, hunting with his boys, dad, and family members and spending time with friends. He was also known for his ability to tell a great story. He was a kind, gentle, big-hearted guy, who was a great dad to his three boys and will be missed by many. He leaves behind his wife, Donna, stepchildren Seth & Brittani Bromley, parents, Leonard & Leona Roemmich, sons, Sam, Ben, & Daniel, grandson, Jack, sisters and brothers in law, Linda & Rodney Rudolph, Laura & John Shipley & Lana & Kenneth Fischer. He will be especially remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by his grandparents: Karl & Rosina Fried, Edward, Mary, & Anna Roemmich. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM, Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Grace Lutheran Church in Driscoll, ND. Reverend Lisa Ahlness will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Casket bearers include Doug Fried, Robert Oster, Ron Seiler, Ross Haibeck, Jason Hieb, Robert Colton, Jerome Jangula and John Olson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at church.
