Leone Loween

d. May 19, 2014

Leone Therese (Traxler) Loween was born on September 7, 1949 in St. Peter, MN, the daughter of Anthony and Monica (Hughes) Traxler. She graduated from Le Center, MN in 1967 and continued her education by attending the University of Wisconsin, Stout. Leone met Bruce Loween on a Saturday morning in the spring of 1972. Just six months later they were united in marriage on October 14 in St. Henry, MN. In the following six years two sons were born out of this union, Tony (1976) and Mike (1978). Lee and her family lived in Ham Lake Township until 1977, at which time they moved to Alexandria. Lee and Bruce, along with their boys, moved to Mexico from 1987 to 1991 to take on a life of Mission work. This experience enriched the lives of Lee and her family. The family returned to Alexandria in 1991 but the Mission to live for Jesus and help others remained. All through her life, Lee?s personality was patient, positive, gracious and servant-hearted. She helped those in need without question and was very strong in spirit through her relationship with the Lord. Lee enjoyed reading books, sewing, and writing letters to friends and family. She collected stamps and liked to play card games with her family. Lee was able to impact people of all ages through being a member of a clown ministry with her friends and volunteering as a Sunday school teacher. Lee could often be found growing in her faith and relationships with others at Bible study groups. All will miss this gracious woman of perseverance and grace. Leone T. Loween died on Monday, May 19, 2014 at the Community Memorial Home in Osakis, MN at the age of 64 years old.
