LeRoy Honebrink

LeRoy Fredrick Honebrink was born on January 1, 1927, in Delano, Minnesota to Emil and Holdina (Telthoester) Honebrink.  He attended country school through 8th grade and took over the family farm after his father’s passing with the neighbors help.

LeRoy was united in marriage to Audrey Grunklee on July 11, 1953, at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Delano.  The couple was blessed with 2 sons, David and Dean.  LeRoy continued to farm and enjoyed spending weekends at their cabin on Lake Ida.  When LeRoy retired in 1987, the couple moved to Alexandria and bought a home on Lake Brophy.  LeRoy drove school bus for District 206 for a few years.

LeRoy enjoyed being by the lake and fishing.  He also like to putz with things and do woodworking and made beautiful boat shelves.

LeRoy died on Friday, October 26, 2018, at Bethany on the Lake in Alexandria at the age of 91.  He is survived by his wife, Audrey of Alexandria; sons, David Honebrink of Alexandria and Dean (Janice) Honebrink of Brandon; 3 grandchildren, Derek, Peggy and Jared Honebrink; sister, Florence Boll of Naples, FL; and nieces and nephews.  LeRoy is preceded in death by his parents, Emil and Holdina; and brother, Curtis Honebrink.

A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Garfield.  Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
