LeRoy Robert Karrow was born on March 7, 1933 in Garfield, Minnesota, the son of Robert and Helen (Pomeranz) Karrow. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. LeRoy attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School and Central High School before joining the United States Army to serve his country.
He met the love of his life, Wanda Soberg, after being discharged from the army at the Go ForDrive In, and the two were united in marriage on August 10, 1957. The couple lived in Alexandria all their life where they raised their two children Denise and Michael.
LeRoy worked at the Douglas County Hospital for thirty-four years as a engineer and was nicknamed “Mr. Clean”. He will be remembered as a family man who loved being a husband and father. He also had a love for the outdoors, animals and was a good listener.
Mr. Karrow died on Thursday, January 21, 2021. He will be missed by his best friend and wife for sixty three years, Wanda. Children: Michael (Lisa) Karrow whom reside in New Hampshire, Denise Lee who resides in Texas. Grandchildren: Sara, Courtney, Jennifer, Justin, Joshua. Great grandchildren: Charlotte, Mason Grant, Owen Lee.
He was preceded in death by his Parents: Robert and Helen Karrow. Three brothers: Harvey, Freddie, Harlan. Sister: Ardean and grandchild Cassandra Karrow.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 25, 2021, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home. Due to Covid-19 health mandates, social distancing and facial coverings are required. A private family service will take place on Tuesday, January 26th, 11:00 a.m. The service will be live streamed for the public.
