Lester Julian Syverson was born on December 12, 1935, in Morris, Minnesota the son of Otto and Emma (Boje) Syverson. Lester graduated from Morris High School and after graduation worked at the body shop in Morris. While working at the Auto Body Shop across the street from the bank he met and later married Chleo Drexler on October 18, 1958 at the Catholic Church in Herman.
The couple moved to Alexandria in 1969 where Lester worked for MN Dot. He enjoyed working in his wood shop and was always at his daughters different events.
He had a personality of taking things as they come and was always the calm in the storm. Lester will be remembered as always being content with what he had. As long as his family was there he knew he had all he needed.
In the last several years he health slowly failed but he was like the little “Energizer Bunny” he would keep going and trying. His love for his family kept him going but when Chleo died his heart broke and he needed to go and be with his sweetheart.
Lester died on Tuesday, February 23, 2016. He is survived by his two daughters: Jayne (Shawn) Koranda, Jennifer (Michael) Lyngen; three grandchildren: Aaron, Alison and Jack; brothers: Marvin & (Diane), Myron & (Marilyn), Elroy & (Frances); sisters: Lois Keil & Aloris Ann Kolp; sister-in-law, Charlotte & (Ron) Caster and several nieces and nephews.
