Lilly Scott

January 15, 1916 — August 17, 2013

Lilly Margaret Christina Scott was born on January 15, 1916, in Rock Creek, MN. Lilly died August 17, 2013, in Fargo, ND at home. In spite of growing up during the depression years, some of Lilly's happiest memories are of her childhood on the family dairy farm. She would often speak of her beloved parents and how they had created a close knit and loving home. She was a graduate of Rush City High School. Lilly married Wendell Scott July 23, 1938, whose career with Land 0' Lakes brought them to Alexandria in 1944. They lived in Alexandria for much of their lives. In addition to raising a family, Lil spent much of her life in retail sales as she loved interacting with people. Her life was remarkable in both its length and richness; she cherished the love of her family and many friends who will miss her dearly. Lil was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell; parents, John and Caroline Rudquist; and brothers and sisters: Richard Rudquist, Alvin Rudquist, Lydia Ness, Olga Erickson, Solon Rudquist, Myrtle Rydlund, Gust Rudquist, Hjalmer Rudquist, "Baby" Jerome Rudquist, Mae Anderson and Jerome Rudquist. Lil is survived by sons, Glenn Scott and wife, Dianne, of Fargo and Larry Scott of Moorhead. The family of Lilly wish to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley for the loving assistance they provided during her final days. A funeral service was held Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Reverend Wayne Erickson officiated and Kim Byrne provided music. Interment followed in the Kinkead Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers included all of Lilly?s friends and family who enriched her life. Memorials are preferred to the hospice of your choice. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
