Llewellyn Mittag

Lewellyn ?Ricky? Mittag was born on November 17, 1960, in Wadena, Minnesota the son of Arthur and Clara Mittag. Rick grew up in the Alexandria area, where he attended school. He worked for Buttweiler?s Do-All, Douglas Plating and for seventeen years Donnelly Mfg. Rick enjoyed motorcycle rides, going for a Sunday drive ? even if it was Wednesday, listening to music whether it was Boney M or an eight track of Johnny Cash. Ricky loved to dance, enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, playing cards. He also took pride in gathering wood for the winter. Rick went home to Heaven on August 12, 2009, after a year long battle with cancer. He is survived by his devoted, loving wife, Linda Marie Mittag; daddy?s little girl, Rosalyn Marie Mittag, stepdaughters: Kristie & Hollie Allen; stepson, Levi Donson; grandson, Aften Prair Allen; parents: Arthur & Clara Mittag; sisters & brother: Roxanne Mittag, Reno (Emalyn) Mittag, Becky (Terry) Larson, Dee Dee (Dave) Neuman, Randi (Rob) Mithwig and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his infant brother, sister, Gwendolyn and his paternal and maternal grandparents. A funeral service was held on Monday, August 17, 2009 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield, MN with the Reverend Ed Borchardt and Robert Petersen officiating. Interment was in the Leaf Mountain Cemetery near Urbank, MN. Casket Bearers were Robert Unden, Mark Miller, Rick Hauer, Richard Vogt, Jimbo Bous, and John Winters.
