Lloyd Hans Schnetzer was born on December 27, 1936, in Terril, Iowa. The family moved to Villard when Lloyd was a young boy. He graduated from Villard High School in 1955 and played on the high school football team. After high school, he served in the U.S. Army Reserves for two years. Lloyd married Mary O?Brien in 1959. The couple farmed all their married life in the Villard area. He was a passionate dairy farmer for many years and then continued raising cattle and being involved in the farm throughout the rest of his life. He was very active in the community ? he served on the Township Board for several years. Lloyd also enjoyed watching sports and never missed any of his children?s sporting and school events. One of his hobbies was playing pool with friends on the Villard and Sauk Centre pool leagues. Lloyd died on Monday, January 13, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Mary; children: Jerry (Joanie) of Chaska, MN, John of New Hope, MN, Mike (Amy) of Bismarck, ND, Tami of Minneapolis, MN; two grandchildren: Eric & Meghan; brother, William (Janet) Schnetzer, sister, Wilmeta (Dale) Massmann; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Engle Schnetzer, brothers: John Enger, Orville Schnetzer, Charlie Stoltz, niece, Kathy (Massmann) Anderson. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014, 11:00 a.m. at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Villard. Burial will be at Lake Amelia Cemetery.
