Lois Mae Butler Johnson died suddenly on June 10th from an undetermined medical condition. She was born on February 11th, 1926 in Prescott Township, MN to Harold and Celia Butler. In 1943 at the age of 17 she decided to move to Washington, D.C. to work for the federal government. This decision would also result in her meeting her future husband, Kenneth, on December 15th 1945. At the time, Kenneth was a strapping young sailor who was rich in talent but not in wealth. For their first date he only had a dime. He would have had 2 dimes but his buddy would not lend him his. In 1946 Lois moved to Rochester, MN to attend the Methodist-Kahler School of Nursing for three years. On May 6th of 1950 Lois and Kenneth were married in Blue Earth, MN and moved to Long Prairie, MN for a year. In August of 1951 they moved to Alexandria, MN and have lived in the same house, which expanded with additions build by Kenny, as their family expanded. Lois and Kenny raised Joel, Glen, Alan and Bruce in that house. Between them the boys have provided Lois and Kenny 10 grand children and 4 and a third great grandchildren to spoil. A gathering of family and friends will be at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria on June 21st between 12:30 and 3:00 PM to celebrate Lois?s life. Instead of gifts or flowers please contribute to Lois?s favorite charity, Heifer International at www.heifer.org.
