Memorial services for Lois Nyberg will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. Rev. Kirk Meseck will officiate at the service. Special music will be provided by organist, Linda Anderson and soloist, Richard Hauck. Honorary Urn Bearers will be the Madison V. F. W. Auxiliary. Interment will be in Faith Lutheran Cemetery. Lois Jean Nyberg, 83, of Alexandria, MN formerly of Madison, MN was born on August 13, 1929 to parents Eli & Rose (Kay) Schuler at Madison, MN. She was baptized at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Garfield Township on September 29, 1929 and confirmed at the Ebenezer Evangelical Church of Madison on April 13, 1941. On August 13, 1954 she received her teaching certificate and began teaching elementary grades in the Lac qui Parle County area while she was also working on her own education. She later graduated from University of Minnesota Morris with a degree in education. She continued teaching for 36 years at various one room school houses, Nassau Elementary, St. Michael?s and lastly at Madison Elementary. She thoroughly enjoyed the teacher get-togethers. The other love of her life came with the marriage to Herman Nyberg, on April 8, 1950, at the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Madison. To this union 2 children were born. The family lived most of their lives on their farm east of Madison. In the fall of 2006, Lois and Herman moved to Alexandria, MN due to Herman?s ill health. Death came to Lois on October 27, 2012 at Grand Arbor in Alexandria, MN. She had reached the age of 83 years, 2 months and 14 days. In life, Lois enjoyed traveling, card parties, fishing, morning coffee, crossword puzzles and especially being with her grandchildren. Lois is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Michael "Micky" and Anne Nyberg of Miltona, MN; Grandchildren: Brad & wife Nicole Nyberg, Eric and wife Andrea Nyberg of Alexandria, and Krista and husband Robb Justice of Soldotna, Alaska; great-grandchildren: Riley and Hudson Nyberg, Weston and Audyn Nyberg and Lennon Justice; brother Bertie and wife Elva Schuler of Madison, sisters; Grace and Edna Jackson of Flint Michigan, sisters-in-law Agnes Erickson and Elaine Bergeson of Dawson. She was preceded in death by her parents Eli and Rose Schuler, husband Herman, daughter Barbara Jean Nyberg, two sisters; Zella and husband Walter Doebbert, Dorothy and husband "Russ" L. Russell, one brother Charles, brothers-in-law Andy and Chet Jackson, Lester Erickson, Irving Nyberg, Glenn Dunham, and sister-in-law Sylvia Dunham. Blessed be her memory.
