Lorraine Eva (McVeigh) Bassamore was born on July 22, 1921 in Minneapolis, MN to William and Eva (Leopard) McVeigh. Lorraine was united in marriage to her Junior High School sweetheart, Nicholas Bassamore on July 3, 1941 in Minneapolis. To this union the couple was blessed with two children, Jayne and Steve. Lorraine was a great wife and mother. She enjoyed cooking, baking and being a homemaker. Lorraine and Nicholas enjoyed traveling the U.S. and going to National Parks. Lorraine died on Thursday, December 12, 2013 at Diamond Willow at the age of 92, she is survived by her son, Steven (fianc�, Yvonne Culligan) Bassamore of Princeton; daughter, Jayne (Jeff) Schmidt of Alexandria; five grandsons and their spouses; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Marion Anderson of Chanhassen; and brother, James (Bonnie) McVeigh of New Hope. She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Eva; husband, Nicholas McVeigh; daughter-in-law, Pennie Bassamore and many more friends and relatives. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at the Henry W. Anderson Mortuary in Minneapolis. Interment was in Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
