Lou Jean Hillyer Streed Lou Jean Hillyer Streed, 69, died March 21, 2009 at the Knute Nelson Memorial Home in Alexandria. Lou Jean was born August 18, 1939 in Brookings and lived in Hendricks for most of her childhood. Her dark brown eyes were always filled with mischief. She graduated from high school in Bloomington. She lived for a number of years in Bloomington, Richfield, and Burnsville before finally settling in Alexandria in 1973. She worked for 3M Coated Abrasive Division. She was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 1981. She fought MS valiantly, never letting it get the best of her. In 2000 she entered Knute Nelson Memorial Home and had resided there until her death. Lou Jean is survived by her husband, Bill Streed, Jr. of Alexandria: her daughter, Debra Quarles of Glendale, AZ; sons; Scott Streed of Virginia Beach, VA and Kevin Streed of Alexandria; grandchildren, Amy Farina, Austine Etchevery, Misha Quarles and Zachary Quarles as well as four great grandchildren, Danielle, Dustin, Trenton and Macen. She was preceded in death by her mother, Hildreth Goodoien Johnson, her father Howard Hillyer and brother, Lyle Hillyer. A memorial service was held at Anderson Funeral Home on March 26, 2009 with Rocky Quarles, presiding.
