Louise Gaugert

December 20, 1917 — June 13, 2009

LOUISE MARIE GAUGERT Louise Marie (Auberg) Gaugert was born on December 20, 1917, in Hospers, Iowa, the daughter of Henry G. and Anna (Tott) Auberg. She attended and graduated from Boyden High School. Louise was united in marriage to Lester H. Gaugert on May 31, 1941 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bartlett Township, MN. Louise and her family lived in Heron Lake, MN and then Spring Valley, MN. Together they had nine children including two sets of twins. In 1963, they moved to Alexandria where Louise and her family became members of Zion Lutheran Church. She was active in Women?s Fellowship and other various committees. She also volunteered her time to make quilts for missionaries, and recorded and delivered audio tapes of the Sunday services to shut-ins. Louise was a loving wife of 46 years until Les?s death in 1987. She loved her family and was always her children?s number one fan. Louise attended many of their sporting events, and school concerts, making them feel like champions win or lose. Louise loved to sing and listen to music. She was an avid reader and enjoyed having the cat on her lap as she read. She loved all animals and especially liked to watch the chipmunks scurry around the yard. Louise loved to watch the seasons change while living at the lake. She was always well liked and had a wonderful smile. She enjoyed her time at Knute Nelson and made many friends with the staff and residents. Those who knew and loved Louise will miss her.
