Louise Mae Haley was born to Anthony and Julia Schelmeske on July 23, 1928 in Minneapolis, MN. She graduated from University High School in 1946.
From Louise’s first marriage were born four children, Sara, Marcia, Paul and David.
Louise was an avid gardener, a wonderful cook and had a gift for hospitality. She enjoyed bowling, politics and traveling. Louise worked for Honeywell for thirteen years. She soldered parts used in the early space program.
The best thing Louise ever did was to ask Jesus to be her Lord and Savior; she transferred her eternal home from hell to heaven. If you want to see Louise again it is suggested you do the same.
Louise married Gary Haley on February 6, 1965 and the couple celebrated their fifty-third wedding anniversary the day before her death.
Louise is survived by her husband, Gary Haley; son, David Janecke and wife, Roxy; daughter, Sara St. John; grandchildren, Ashlee Janecke, Adam Janecke and wife, Rose, Jamie Guibord and wife, Mari, Casey Guibord and wife, Dawn and Billie Turner and wife, Jayme; and ten great grandchildren. Louise is preceded in death by her parents; son, Paul Janecke; daughter, Marcia Unke: and sister, Dorothy Miller.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Interment in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery at Camp Ripley will follow at a later date. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
