Louise H. Hillmer Louise Helen Hillmer was born February 8, 1919 to Wenzel (Trisko) Adensam. She grew up on the family farm and attended country school in both Belle River Township and later in Leslie Township, Todd County. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Nicholas parish where she remained a lifelong member. On May 6th, 1941 she was married at St. Nicholas to Carl Hillmer. They moved to Carlos where Carl was the village blacksmith for many years. Along with being a housewife and raising the children, she enjoyed getting out and cleaning lake cabins on Lake Carlos, Darling and Le Homme Dieu. She also cleaned the bank in Carlos for many years. She loved her family and her many friends. She was always on the go. Her favorite pastimes were visiting with friends, gardening, fishing, bingo and playing the piano. In her younger years she also played the accordion. Louise is survived by her son Donald of Alexandria; daughter Pat Koep of Oakdale; and son Dennis and wife Deb of Carlos. She is also survived seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Louise was preceded in death by her parents, husband Carl, and brothers Wencle, Lawrence, and Nicholas; sisters Christine Wodicka and Mary Barten. Louise passed away December 4, 2011 at Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria. A Mass of Resurrection was held for Louise on Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11AM at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River with the Fr. Dave Petron officiating. Music was provided by Maryln Lehmkuhl and the Belles of St. Nicholas. Interment will be at the church cemetery with her grandchildren as pallbearers: Matt, Jed, Nathan, Linsey Hillmer, Amy Fink and Donny Koep. Honorary Pallbearer is Julie Watkins, granddaughter of Mississippi. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home
