Louise Marion (Maxwell) Hosking was born on April 1, 1918 in Morris, MN to Albert and Callie (Pierce) Maxwell. She graduated from high school in Osakis. Louise moved to Minneapolis where she worked as a secretary for 20 years. Louise was united in marriage to Robert Hosking on July 7, 1962 in Lincoln Park, MI. Later they moved back to Minneapolis for a short time. The couple returned back to Trenton, MI where Robert worked as a teacher. In 1985, they moved to Alexandria to be closer to family. Louise enjoyed needlework, crafts, feeding birds, reading and watching movies. She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Peace Circle. Louise also enjoyed volunteering at the senior center. Louise died on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the Douglas County Hospital at the age of 95. She is survived by her nieces, Kay (Odean) Rasmusen of Osakis, Christine Granzow of Alexandria, Kelly Maxwell of Fergus Falls and Linda Butler of Arizona; and nephews, Robert Maxwell of Villard and Michael Maxwell of Arizona. A memorial service was held on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at the Anderson Funeral Home with Reverend Jeff Hansen officiating. Music was provided by Kim Byrne. Inurnment was in Kinkead Cemetery in Alexandria. Arrangements are with the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.
