Lowell Berg

Lowell Orlin Berg was born June 25, 1927, in Elbow Lake Township, Grant County, Minnesota to Clifford and Cora Berg. He worked and helped his father farm. From 1951-1953, Lowell served in the U.S. Army.  On August 7, 1955, Lowell was united in marriage to Doris Lindblom. The couple made their home in Roseville, MN. Lowell worked at Waldorf Paper Products Company in St. Paul for over 40 years. They were members of St. Timothy’s Lutheran Church in St. Paul. Lowell and Doris retired and moved to Alexandria in 1997 to be closer to family. Most important to Lowell was his wife, Doris; they had 60 years together. Lowell was a quiet, kind, hardworking man.

Lowell died on Wednesday, December 5, 2018, at Sharon’s Senior Services in Alexandria under the care of Knute Nelson Hospice at the age of 91. He is survived by his brothers, Allen Berg of Garfield, Cornell Berg of Park Rapids, and Earl Berg of Kentucky; and many nieces and nephews. Lowell is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Cora (Leegard) Berg; wife, Doris Berg; sister, Donna O’Leary; and brother, Kermit Berg.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 12:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2018, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria.  Visitation will be held from 11:30-12 PM prior to the service on Saturday, with lunch to follow.
