Philip Matthew Schlosser died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at Knute Nelson Home in Alexandria. Philip was born September 8, 1935 in Alexandria to Nicholas Schlosser and Emma (Feda) Schlosser of Carlos. He was baptized at St. Nicholas Catholic Church where he was a lifelong member. He attended Alexandria High School where he graduated in 1953. He served three years in the Navy in the South Pacific. Following his military service he returned home to Carlos to help his father and brother on the family farm. After his parents death, he took over operation of the family farm. He was a life-long farmer and took great pride in his work and in 1998 his farm was awarded the century award. In 1993 he married Phyllis (Brink) Wark. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; three step-children, Wesley (Pamela) Wark of Gallup, New Mexico; Jeanie (Mike) Elfstrom of Sebeka, Minnesota; Jackie (Ken) Bottman of Mountlake Terrace, Washington; son-in-law, John Titcomb of Sebeka, Minnesota; four grandchildren, Travis and Jasmin Titcome and Christopher and Cori Bottman, and his brother Nicholas (Sharon) Schlosser, one nephew and one niece. He was preceded in death by his parents Nicholas and Emma Schlosser. A funeral service was held on September 2, 2008 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Belle River, Minnesota. The Reverend Ralph Zimmerman officiated. Interment was held in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Darwin Brechbiel, Gene Hauer, Clarence Koering, Paul Lehn, Ron Neisen, and Wayne Rediehs.
