Mabel Klug

Mabel Klug Mabel Emma Irene Nack was born March 4, 1923 in Alexandria, MN, the daughter of Walter and Sophie (Ziegelmann) Nack. She grew up near Garfield where she attended St. John?s parochial school. On October 19, 1941 Mabel was united in marriage to Reinhold Klug at St. John?s Lutheran Church. The couple farmed until 1984 when Reinhold retired and they moved into Garfield. Mabel moved to Bethel Manor in 2006. Mabel enjoyed gardening flowers and vegetables. She liked to spend time reading. Her family was very important to her; she enjoyed visiting with them and playing card games. Mabel was a very good cook and baker She baked for the restaurant in Garfield and for her family; they loved her caramel rolls, molasses cookies and homemade donuts. Mabel had a strong Christian faith. She was baptized at Ebenezer Lutheran Church and confirmed at St. John?s Lutheran Church. She served her church for many years volunteering her time. She taught Sunday school and release time school. She was active in the Ladies? Aid for many years. On November 15, 2013 Mabel died at the age of ninety years. Her husband, Reinhold Klug; one son, Kenneth Klug; and two brothers, Harold and Emil Nack, preceded her in death. Mabel is survived by two sons, Roger Klug and wife, LuAnn, of Garfield and Kevin Klug and wife, Connie, of Streator, Illinois; daughter, Marlys Gease and husband, Howard, of Alexandria; daughter-in-law Kathy Klug; ten grandchildren, Arenda Ryks and husband, Curtis, Heather Hamann and husband, Ryan, Eric Klug and wife, Lori, Craig Klug and wife, Ella, Shaun Klug and wife, Anita, Pam Johnson and husband, Clark, Rob Tryggeseth and wife Kim, Gregg Tryggeseth, Kelli Chapman and husband, Josh; and Randy Decker and Jennifer; great grandchildren, Austin Ryks, Blake Ryks, Braden Hamann, Colten Hamann, Westen Hamann, Asher Klug, Matthew Klug, Emily Klug, Amberlyn Pazino, Cora Brooks, Ronan Decker, Robert Thompson and wife Nikki; and Heather Thompson; one sister, Linda Utley; three sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service was held on November 19, 2013 at St. John?s Lutheran Church in Garfield with Rev. Benjamin Schimm officiating. Irma Brockberg and Everald Timm provided music. Interment was in St. John?s Lutheran Church Cemetery. Casket bearers were Keith Nack, Craig Klug, Rob Tryggeseth, Curtis Ryks, Ryan Hamann, Eric Klug and James Zehner. Honorary casket bearers included all of Mabel?s great grandchildren. Arrangements were by Anderson Funeral Home.
