Magel Marcella Danielson (nee Thorson) was born May 6, 1924 to Nels and Nettie Thorson in Garfield, MN. She was baptized and confirmed at East Moe Lutheran Church, Moe Township. She graduated from Jefferson High School in Alexandria in 1942 before being united in marriage to Archie Danielson in Edna, Kansas in 1943. Their family grew with the addition of two children, Patricia and Steve. Magel spent much of her life working as a waitress and was active in church life; she was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church, often helping serve meals at their Lenten soup luncheons. She was also a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Her willingness to help others will be greatly missed by her family.
Magel is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Archie Danielson; five sisters, Emma, Julia, Mildred, Ethel, and Irene; two brothers, Noyal and Francis, and grandson Darren Larson.
She is survived by her two children, Patricia (Dave) Weber of Clarissa and Steve (Diane) Danielson of Alexandria; 4 grandchildren, Scott (Natalie) Danielson, Kristy (Wade) Lerfald, Allison Corkill-Bomgaars, and Dave Larson; 15 great-grandchildren, Kody, Kaycea, Austin, and Taylor Larson, Mackenzie Bakeberg, Shelby, Jayda, Kiara, and Zoey Danielson, Connor, Brock, and Owen Lerfald, Hailley Danielson-Owczynsky, and Ella and Meilla Corkill-Bomgaars; 2 great-great-grandchildren Kayden Larson and Talan Nalezny.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at 2 PM at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with visitation starting one hour prior at the funeral home. Interment to follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
