Mandy Jo Boseke was born on July 13, 1978 in Illinois, the daughter of Joseph Boseke and Kathleen Merrill. At a young age Mandy entered a foster home in Arizona. Her foster parents moved to Alexandria, MN with Mandy when she was about 13 years old. She attended school in Alexandria and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1997. While in Alexandria, Mandy met and became close friends with Lynda Skoglund and her family. After graduating from high School, Mandy moved to Arizona and then to Illinois until she returned to the Skoglund family in 2007. Mandy worked for Prairie Senior Cottages as a CNA. Mandy also worked at Wal-Mart and Knute Nelson. Mandy?s first love was her cats Rosey and Buddy. She also enjoyed vegetable gardening and reading. She loved to spend time outdoors camping, hiking, fishing and canoeing. On Wednesday, August 13, 2008, Mandy died at the age of thirty years. Mandy is survived by her best friend and sister, Teshia Hoemberg of Fergus Falls, MN; her adoptive mother, Lynda Skoglund of Alexandria; sister, Serena Stoeck of Alexandria; brother, Dan Skoglund of Grand Rapids, MN; along with her other extended Skoglund family members. Mandy is also survived by her brother, Jeremy Hickle and step-father, Mike (Penny) Hickle of Illinois along with her many friends. Mandy was preceded in death by her cats, Casey and Sissy. A memorial service was held Friday, August 22, 2008 at the Grace Church in Alexandria. Reverend Craig Dahl officiated. Ruth Peterson and Sue Lundblad provided music. Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
