Marcella (Belohradsky) Hanson was born on December 7, 1935, in Alexandria, MN to Charley and Bertha (Modrova) Belohradsky. She graduated in 1954 from Central High School in Alexandria. Marcella then moved to Washington D.C. and Norfolk, VA where she worked as a secretary. She later moved back to Alexandria where she raised her two children, Laurie and Jeff. Marcella worked at Fingerhut for a time before working at 3M, where she retired at the age of 62. In 2011, Marcella moved to Blaine to be closer to her children.
Marcella enjoyed bowling, crocheting, knitting, crossword puzzles and planting beautiful flower gardens. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Many hours were spent playing Yahtzee and other games with family and especially with her dear friend, Dawn Jakubiec.
Marcella died on Thursday, December 5, 2019, at Lyngblomsten Care Center in St. Paul at the age of 83. She is survived by her daughter, Laurie (Kevin) Ferdelman of Blaine; son, Jeff (Dawn) Hanson of Elk River; grandchildren, Peter (Amber Hendrickson) Rentz, Nick (Shannon) Hanson, Amanda (Kody) Dzuris, Aaron (Jake) Wainman, and Allyse (Kent) Boyd; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Serenity, Marshall, Roni, Jayden, Ava, Desmond, and Grayson; and many nieces and nephews. Marcella was preceded in death by her parents, Charley and Bertha Belohradsky; her three sisters, Mary Keipe, Helen Shoemaker and Lillian Oppermann. Also by her beloved dog, Fifi.
A Funeral Service will be held 11:00 AM on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria with Reverend Angie Larson officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
