Marcine A. (Roers Pischke) Kraemer was born on October 3, 1921 in Brandon Township the daughter of Hubert and Anna (Kuhn) Roers. She attended country school district #37 through the eighth grade. Marcine met and fell in love with Philip Pischke. They were united in marriage on October 10, 1939 at Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in Millerville, MN. To this union 4 children were born ? James, Joan, Donald, and Glenaris. Marcine and Phillip farmed together 17 years in Leaf Valley Township and then she helped run Phil?s Grocery store in Millerville for six years. The Pischkes moved to Alexandria in 1963 where she happily worked at Ben Franklin. She was a member of St. Mary?s Catholic Church, St. Catherine?s Society, Christian Mothers, and Daughters of Isabella. Philip died in June of 1983. Marcine met and then married John Kraemer on November 7, 1987 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Alexandria. The two of them were great companions and enjoyed their retirement years together. Marcine was a kind, friendly, and social woman with a quick wit and a good sense of humor. She was competitive in card playing and a big Minnesota Twins fan who loved a good garage sale. Marcine was an excellent cook, and also enjoyed dancing, traveling and cruising. She liked nature, being outdoors, and tending to her garden. Marcine loved her family, especially spending time with the grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Marcine A. Kraemer died on Friday, August 22, 2008 at Knute Nelson in Alexandria at the age of 86. She is survived by her sons James (LaeDean) Pischke of Brandon, MN; Donald (Nancy) Pischke of Tucson, AZ; daughters Joan (George) Hockert of Oakdale, MN; Glenaris (Barry) Arvold of Holmes City, MN; twelve grandchildren - Pat, Mike, John Pischke, and Julie Ruter, Pam Freese, Cindy, Sandy, and George Hockert III, Jacob Arvold, Jessica Bainbridge, Johnell Miller, and Isaac Arvold; 18 great grandchildren; brothers Philip (Odelia) Roers of Alexandria; Walter (Evelyn) Roers of Alexandria; Dennis (Irma) Roers of Fergus Falls, MN; sisters Irene Daas of Millerville, MN; Genevieve Nargorski of Brainerd, MN; Alice and Melvin Boesen of Brooklyn Park, MN; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Philip Pischke, second husband John Kraemer and her brother, Ralph Roers. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Wednesday August 27, 2008 at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Alexandria with Father Steve Binsfeld officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Casket Bearers were Patrick Pischke, Michael Pischke, John Pischke, Jacob Arvold, Isaac Arvold, and Brian Freese. Honorary Casket Bearers were all of Marcine?s 18 great grandchildren.
