Marian Lenz

December 5, 1939 — June 7, 2010

MARIAN JUNE PAULINE LENZ passed away on Monday, June 7, 2010, at the Douglas County Hospital in Alexandria, MN, surrounded by her loving family. Marian was born in Alexandria on December 5, 1939, the daughter of Orville and Mildred (Fahlin) Syvertson. She was a lifelong resident of Alexandria. She was united in marriage to Lowell Lenz on December 14, 1962, in Aberdeen, SD. Marian had a love for the outdoors. She loved to fish since she was a young girl. She also loved camping, gardening, enjoyed watching the many birds and squirrels she fed when they visited her yard, and she loved all animals and had many ?grandpuppies? that came to visit her. She was very artistic, and liked sewing and doing crafts, and passed those skills on to her children and grandchildren. Marian was an avid reader and knowledgeable about many topics. She enjoyed her adventures traveling around the United States and Canada spending time with family and friends. Marian loved music, especially country. Johnny Cash was one of her favorites. What Marian enjoyed above all else was her family. She loved to cook and bake for the people she loved. She was devoted to her family, it is what she lived for. Her patience and unassuming ways, her wonderful sense of humor, funny expressions and ever present smile were admired by those who were lucky enough to spend any time with her. Marian always put others before herself; concerned about their car, nurturing, and happiness, even if it meant sacrificing her own. She saw the bright side of life and loved and accepted everyone around her unconditionally and without question. Marian always had a kind word and a way to make you smile. There was no brighter sunshine than she. Her amazing sense of humor kept us laughing, even down to her last day here with us. Her beautiful smile and kind loving heart are something we will all cherish forever. She is deeply missed. Marian moved to Bethany Home in Alexandria on March 1, 2006, after suffering a series of strokes. She courageously fought back from many setbacks over the past 4 1/2 years. Marian is survived by: Lowell Lenz of Alexandria, MN; daughters Pamela Lundeen (Robert Laskovics) of Minnetonka, MN, and Cindy Lenz of Alexandria, MN; sons Douglas Lenz (Tammy) of Alexandria, MN, and Scott Lenz (Cynthia) of New London,MN; stepsons Brent Lenz of Long Prairie, MN,and Brandon Lenz of St. Louis Park, MN; grandchildren Lacey and Brittney Lundeen of Minnetonka, MN; Christopher Lenz of Alexandria, MN; Amanda (Stephen Reishus) of Alexandria, MN; Adam, Ashley, Ariel, Amber, Anthony, Andrew, Avery and Adeline Lenz of Alexandria, MN; nieces Kim Utesch (Randy) of Pine River, MN, Lynn Syvertson of Glenwood, MN, and Debbie Anderson (Roland) of Glenwood, MN; brother Donald Syvertson (Darlene) of Glenwood, MN; she also took over the role of mom, grandma and great-grandma after the death of her sister Vivian of Vivian?s daughter, Kim Utesch, and Kim?s children, Matt Bretz (Svea), Jessica Waytashak (Kurt), Nick Syvertson and Cheyenne Syvertson; and grandchildren Maggie and Sage Bretz; Ethan and Dominik Waytashek.
