Marian Sethney

Marian Evelyn was born on January 17, 1914, in Ryan, Iowa, the daughter of Harm & Gebina (Leesekamp) Huls. She attended school in Deer Creek and graduated in 1932. She furthered her education at Lee Beauty School in St. Paul. MN. On November 9, 1940, Marian was united in marriage to Milton Sethney. As newlyweds they were trapped in Elbow Lake, during the Armistice Day storm until the roads could be cleared. Marian enjoyed sewing, crocheting, knitting, and made all the clothes for her children and herself. She also loved watching golf on TV. The family wishes to thank the staff at Camilia Rose Care Center for their wonderful care. Memorials are preferred to the Camilia Rose Care Center. Marian died on Sunday, December 26, 2010. She is survived by her six children: Karyn Skog of Coon Rapids, John Sethney of Plymouth, Sharon Petterson of Minneapolis, James (Dawn) Sethney of St. Michael, MN, Joanette (Dennis) Larson of White Bear Lake, MN, Sheila (Douglas) Mayer of McKinney, TX; sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, sister-in-law, LeVonne Swanson of Elbow Lake, MN. She was preceded in death by her husband, Milton; son-in-law, LeRoy Skog,.great grandson, Aaron Jurek, two brothers. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, December 28, 2010, 4:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Burial will be at Evergreen Cemetery in Alexandria. Visitation will start at 3:00 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home on Tuesday.
