OBITUARY Marie Arlene Blackledge was born on August 4, 1941, the daughter of Edward and Larena (Carlson) Wymer in San Mateo, CA. She was raised in Frazee on a turkey farm and later moved with her family to Perham, MN. Marie was united in marriage to Vern Blackledge on September 11, 1981 in Dent, MN. They lived in Ottertail, MN until 2005 when Marie moved to Alexandria to be closer to her family. Marie worked as a nurse?s aide for several nursing homes throughout her life. She enjoyed crocheting, crafting, fishing, and going to the casino with family and friends. Marie loved her family especially her grandchildren. She always had time to bake and make cookies with them. She also loved to go Christmas shopping for the grandkids as well. She was a kindhearted woman who will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Marie A. Blackledge died on Monday, December 27, 2010 at her home at the age of 69 years. She is survived by her loving husband of 29 years Vern Blackledge; son David (Stephanie) Bertek of Carlos, MN; daughter Mary (Joe) Riepe of Perham, MN; six grandchildren April, Josh, Michael, Haley, Tiffany, and Brandon; three sisters Dorothy (Donnie) Loebrick of Maple Plain, MN; Connie (Orlin) Fenske of Ottertail, MN; Joyce Severson of Ottertail, MN; step-children Beverly (Roger) Blomster of Rogers, MN; Donald Blackledge of Great Falls, Montana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and stepson Larry Blackledge. A funeral service was held on Friday, December 31, 2010 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Alexandria with the Reverend David Domanski officiating. Sue Nelson was the organist and Ken Bakalyar played the guitar. Interment will be in the Geneva Cemetery. Casket Bearers were Craig Fenske, Allen Fenske, Mike Haspel, Al Bahnson, Filipe Hernandez, and Nick Haspel. Honorary Casket Bearers were All of Marie?s grandchildren.
