OBITUARY Marie Joyce Kidney Lee Marie Joyce Kidney Lee died on March 29, 2011 at the Douglas County Hospital surrounded by her family. Marie Joyce Kidney Lee was born on September 11, 1929 in Alpha, Minnesota to George and Anna Kidney. Marie grew up on a farm just south of Jackson, Minnesota. She was confirmed and attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jackson. Marie had 2 siblings? sister Barbara Kidney Beckel and brother Jerald. Following graduation from high school Marie attended business school in Minneapolis and then worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield. Marie was married to Robert Eugene Lee on September 2, 1949 in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Together, Bob and Marie had 7 children. They lived in the St. Paul area where Marie was busy raising the children and worked at the Melmac plant in St. Paul. In 1968 they moved to Kensington, Minnesota where they purchased the Buckhorn Resort on Lake Oscar. Marie and Bob owned the resort for 10 years. Following the sale of the resort they lived in Montana. The last 20 years Marie has lived near Kensington, MN. Marie?s smile and loving, giving, generous ways were evident everyday during her life. She was always willing to give a hug and smile to all. The center of Marie?s life was her family. She enjoyed spending time with them during holidays, birthdays, and other family gatherings. Marie is survived by her children, Ron of Little Canada; Patrick (Melissa) of Kensington, Jerry (Lori) of Brandon, Ann (Jerry) Challes of Brandon, Mark (Lynette) of Mora, and Rita Lee of Garfield. Marie was blessed with 20 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Sister Barb (Stan) Beckel of Jackson. Godchildren Jeanne Cole and Tricia Lee Crotty and many nephews and nieces. Marie was preceded in her death by her husband Bob, son Robbie, her parents George and Anna Kidney, brother Jerald, and numerous brothers and sisters in law. A Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church in Kensington with Fr. Roger Thoennes officiating. Soloist was Kathy Lindgren. Internment was at Our Lady of the Runestone Catholic Church cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons; Jesse Lee, David Terhark, Travis Lee, Tommy Lee, Bobby Lee, Brett Fuchs, Jacob Lee, Casey Lee, Michael Loften, and Darren Klimek. Honorary pallbearers were her granddaughters; Michelle Lee, Tammy Lee Stanoch, Tricia Lee Crotty, Heather Lee, Amber Lee, Stacy Lee, Crystal Lee, Amanda Johnson, Tiffany Challes, and Jessica Mohagen.
