Marilyn Ann Kluver was born at home on August 10th, 1940, in Alexandria, MN, to Orvin and Josephine (Klegseth) Johnson. As the oldest of four children, she embraced her role in caring for her younger siblings. Her love for learning shone through, and she graduated from Alexandria High School in 1959. When Delbert Kluver returned from the army, he invited her to “settle down,” and she joyfully accepted. They were united in marriage on November 28th of that same year.
Together, they raised five daughters: Gayle, Judith, Barbara, Denise, and Janice. After living in Rockford, IL, and Minneapolis, MN, they created a life rooted in the Kluver Family Homestead (the Farm), where they cultivated crops and tended to various animals. In 1967, she and her niece Doris Anderson embraced their faith by saying the sinner’s prayer together, marking a new chapter in their spiritual journey. Marilyn found joy in weeding the garden and nurturing her plants. She worked at Pete’s Super Value Grocery Store and later at Bethany Home, where she tended the greenhouse as an activity aide, and earned a bookkeeping degree from Alexandria Technical College.
In 1989, Marilyn and Delbert moved to Minneapolis, where she continued to flourish as a bookkeeper at Labelco. Their shared passion led them to refurbish houses, and Marilyn established her own cleaning business, "Marilyn’s Home Touch.” The couple enjoyed a remarkable partnership, sharing countless joyful moments while welcoming visits from their children and grandchildren, who were the lights of their lives. They returned to the farm to retire, building a cherished home that remains a beloved gathering place for family today. Marilyn is remembered for her unwavering love for Jesus and her readiness to pray for anyone around her. In her later years, she became the designated “Grandma” to the younger nurses in her care facilities, embodying kindness and compassion that profoundly impacted those around her.
Marilyn was reunited with Delbert in heaven after she passed away in her home on April 8th, 2025, at the age of 84 due to dementia. She will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
