Marilyn Estelle (Espeland) Bergh was born on January 11, 1938 in Madison, MN to Orville and Stella (Sater) Espeland. She graduated from Madison High School in 1956. On December 21, 1956, she was united in marriage to Paul Bergh at Faith Lutheran Church in Madison. To this union the couple was blessed with four children. Marilyn worked as a stay at home mom and helped at the Sears store that her brother, Chuck owned. The couple moved to Miltona in 1984 when she started a career as a realtor Marilyn was very passionate and loved being a realtor during her 25 year career.
Marilyn enjoyed traveling, being outside and being by the lakes. Most important to her was family, and she made sure that she never missed any of the kids’ activities.
Marilyn died on Monday, January 19, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family at the age of 77. She is survived by her son, Steve (Tracey) Bergh of Fergus Falls; daughters, Deb (Bob) Olson of Dawson, Julie (friend, Jeff Schlueter) Bergh of Madison; grandchildren, Derik and Tyler Bergh, Kristin (Brandon) Bendel and Eric Olson; and great-grandchildren, Alexis, Taylynn, and Brantley Bendel; nephew, Steve; niece, Peggy and special friend, Don Bangsund. Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Stella; husband, Paul; daughter, Jodi Bergh; and brother, Chuck Espeland.
A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Calvary Lutheran Church in Alexandria with Reverend Mike Widner officiating. Inurnment will be held in the spring at Hayden Cemetery in Madison, MN.
